I recently purchased the CD from Secretly Canadian, a small shop that is reissuing the Jacobites albums on CD. The reissue includes songs from the Shame for the Angels EP. I had the vinyl back in the 80s and listened to it over and over while making my decision to move from Southern California to Southern Illinois.

The Jacobites are a great band to listen to when making any kind of major life change, especially if you are a guy who is thinking of breaking off a relationship with a woman. The opening song, Big Store, will be more than enough (eight minutes) to sink you deeper into loneliness. The second song, Kissed You Twice, probably influenced my move. ("I moved across the river, so tired of watching my mother's TV. I've been looking and I found out someone there believed in me.")

Once I had moved to Southern Illinois, where I knew no one, I placed the needle on Need a Friend. Who needs friends when you have the comforting voice of Nikki Sudden?|||108449068814491685|||JACOBITES
