While screenwriting is my primary passion in my post-forty life, I would sum up the previous two decades as follows: my twenties were occupied by skateboarding; my thirties, searching. Searching for what? Love, primarily, which I found. But also just plain ol’ searching for the love of it. I spent the better part of the 1990s in college, working odd jobs here and there, and moving around the country.
I’m hoping by the time I’m fifty, I will sum up my forties with the word screenwriting. After roughly three years of dabbling, I have completed two original screenplays. I am currently working on a third script based on historical events, which I have found much more difficult to do.
I also recently won a one-week immersion workshop at the Writers’ Bootcamp in Santa Monica. That, along with the upcoming Willamette Writers conference will be a great time to start taking this more seriously.
It could signal my return to Hollywood. What? Don’t you remember my stellar performance in Gleaming the Cube?|||108457674023567617|||skateboarding, searching, screenwriting
