2/25/2005 08:58:00 PM|||Britt|||I've allowed myself to take some time off from writing screenplays so that I can waste some time on the internet and get all my blogs caught up. Why do I have blogs? Why, to waste time, of course.
I write off blogs as experiments in writing, while some people quit their jobs in order to blog full time. Too bad I didn't stick with my Tennessee roots, I could be making $100,000 blogging about the Dukes of Hazzard.
I should now admit that I don't like using blog as a verb. I also steer away from using Google as a verb. Take the paragraph above this one and replace all cases of blog used as a verb with the more correct to write a blog or writing a blog. Thank you. I feel better.
I've noticed that I have difficulty focusing on screenwriting at night. I'm fine during the day if I can take an hour or two to go to a coffeeshop. Being away from the house forces me to focus on writing.
I'm hoping all this writing, web design, and time wasting will eventually lead to my own $100,000 a year job writing about some specific piece of American culture. My problem is that I don't currently obsess about a particular TV show, movie series, style of music, or any other pop culture dreck. Follow your petty obsession and the money will follow.|||110939509018988227|||Gearing back up
