The lead character was the least interesting of the cast. I preferred the characters of Uncle Rico and Pedro. Their stories were more engaging. While Napoleon got the girl in the end, his whole story line lacked any tension. I wasn't surprised when he busted out some moves in front of the whole school. The ensuing applause was a typical cliche of underdog movies.

The acting seemed too much like acting at many times. There was not a natural flow to the dialogue, which may have been intentional but became tiresome after the first fifteen minutes.

The story is basically summed up by Pedro's pronouncement, on the advice of Napoleon, to the students of their high school that if they elect him class president, their wildest dreams will come true. Lo and behold, thanks to the dance moves of Napoleon, Pedro is elected president.

Even Uncle Rico's wildest dream seems to come true in the end, although the scene that may have provided the setup was not included.

On a scale of one to ten, I would rate Napoleon Dynamite a five.|||110870799423130148|||Napoleon Firecracker
