He provided the musical backdrop for my decision to quit my job as managing editor of Transworld Skateboarding Magazine in the late 1980s and go to college in Illinois.

If I lost my laptop in a freak accident, I would instantly turn to three web applications to keep myself in the loop until I got a new one.

These three applications would be delicious, Bloglines, and Backpack. Those are the ones that bring the most comfort to my online world, a place where I’m surrounded by my own trinkets.

Amid all the new stuff coming out, I’d still go with these old favorites. They serve me well.
