The Autumn of my Dissing Content

Taking a walk on an autumn evening reminds me of going back to school, specifically when I was taking night classes at Palomar Community College in 1987 while working full-time at Transworld Skateboarding Magazine. I also had a full load of classes: creative writing, philosophy, history. Ahhh, the headiness of those evening walks after class.

I realized that since the birth of my daughter over four years ago, I no longer take enough walks. I’ve always been a walking enthusiast, even serving on the City of Portland’s Pedestrian Advisory Committee years ago. When I have extra time on my hands, I tend to gravitate toward the computer. I’m changing that habit pronto.
